Artist Statement

Being a resident of Sheffield and loving the location lures me into the heart of the City and to show the World how the people of Sheffield live their lives either by a window so people can look through and see how these people live, or by a mirror so I can show the audience themselves and how they come across to other people.

I came across the idea to become a Street Photographer in Sheffield back when I was almost 18 years old and I was doing a project about Sheffield when I was studying my BTEC qualification. This project was the most enjoyable project I had done up to date where my education was concerned, and expressing my love for the City and the people there that give Sheffield a nickname “A big village”. Although on the odd occasion I will take images outside of Sheffield, I won’t go out of Sheffield just to take photographs, I will only shoot outside Sheffield if I am already out and a good opportunity comes along, besides that I am only really interested in Sheffield City Centre.

I use a Canon 550D SLR camera and I only end to stick to doing my work when I am in the right mood to do so.
